Oscar Customer Service - FAQ

At Oscar, we strive for customer satisfaction, and part of that is feedback - we would love to hear from you. If you have any questions about our car rental or problems with your booking, we will do our best to solving your request! You are always welcome to contact us by email, phone, or chat.
 
Before calling our customer service, you might want to go through the list of most frequently asked questions.

As all locations at Oscar are independent, all vehicles must always be returned to the same location as the pick-up.

Yes, all our cars can be driven with category B / normal driver’s licenses.

There is technically no age limit or requirement for how long you have had a driver's license when you rent a car from Oscar. However, in some cases, there may be an age restriction when renting vans, moving trucks, car transporters, or luxury cars. Once you have clicked on the desired car, it will let you know if there is an age restriction on the selected car.

Depending on the vehicle type and rental location, you may be asked to withhold a deposit, which you will get back when the rental period is over. You can lower your deposit amount by selecting premium insurance package. Click here to learn more.

If canceled within 48 hours before the pick-up time, Oscar has the right to charge the full amount. If the cancellation is made before the 48-hour time frame, you will only have to pay 25% of the rental price. For questions about cancellations, please contact us at (+34) 951 12 93 33.

The price for extra kilometers depends on which car you want to rent and how many kilometers you need. You can choose to pre-book kilometers with a quantity discount. Another choice is to pay a standard price per kilometer, based on the exact number of kilometers driven, determined by the type and size of the car. Our rental period is basically from morning to morning, but the pick-up and drop-off times can vary from location to location. The pick-up can, in many cases, take place later. However, it must be within the location's opening hours. Some locations have a key box allowing the car to be delivered outside the opening hours; however, this must be done within the rental period.

The price always includes the mandatory liability insurance and roadside assistance. In case of damage, the renter will be charged up to the maximum excess amount, which vary depending on type of vehicle, but typically between 300€ - 1200€. The exact amount is displayed for the individual vehicle during the booking process. You can reduce the excess amount by selecting the premium insurance package.

Most of our vehicles are allowed to cross borders. However, it is important that you inform us and pay the international insurance fee, to ensure the vehicle is covered outside the Spanish territory. The international insurance can be paid during the booking process, and the price may vary from location to location.

When you book a car with Oscar, it is the information entered in the booking process that will also be on the rental contract. Information about the driver and any additional drivers must be entered in the booking process.

In many cases, it is possible to see the dimensions of the van when you click on ‘more information on our van after a search. If the dimensions are not listed, you are welcome to contact customer service at (+34) 951 12 93 33.

When you rent a car at Oscar, it includes roadside assistance as we want to provide you with peace of mind. You can see the telephone number for roadside assistance at the top of the rental contract, which you will receive when picking up the car.

Unfortunately, at Oscar, we do not accept cash, but you can pay with both debit and credit cards.

Fuel is not included in the price. The car must be returned with the same fuel level as when picked up.

Other people are welcome to drive the car if they are listed as an extra driver and have a valid driver’s license. The driver’s license must be presented at pick-up.

The car must be delivered in the same good condition and fuel level as when picked up. Remember all your belongings. We appreciate if you remove your trash, e.g. bottles, papers, etc. 

Neither animals nor smoking is allowed in our rental cars. If you do not respect the agreements with the location, you will be charged a fee.

When picking up the car, you must bring a payment card, driver’s license at least one other valid ID, such as passport or DNI/NIE.

Prices include car rental, accident and theft insurance, VAT, and 200 km per day. In addition, there are several purchase options, such as the purchase of extra kilometers, excess insurance reduction and accessories.

Prices may vary slightly from location to location because Oscar is franchise-based. This can apply to both rental prices and insurance. However, you are always guaranteed the price that you got when you booked the car. Check our price list here.

As a car renter, you are responsible for all parking and speeding fines during your rental period. If you do not pay the fine, Oscar will charge the amount and an administration fee for processing the fine.

You must be able to present a valid driver’s license. If you have just obtained a driver’s license or, for some other reason, have a temporary driver’s license, you can unfortunately not rent a car from Oscar. If you do not have a driver’s license from an EU country, you must present an international driver’s license.

Both the payment of the reservation and the deposit can be made with a card that does not have the driver of the vehicle as its owner. The reservation data must be those of the driver.
